Los clubes de la máxima división inglesa han decidido en asamblea descartar por unanimidad poner techo al precio de los billetes a los aficionados visitantes. Los representantes de los 20 equipos decidieron, de forma secreta, ignorar una petición proclamada por aficionados de todo el Reino Unido. La resolución, tomada el pasado 4 de febrero, ha sido un duro golpe para Football Supporters Federation(FSF) que esta trabajando para tratar de hacer entender a las entidades el error cometido.
FSF se encargó de unir fuerzas en una una propuesta surgida por seguidores de distintos colores. La campaña de sensibilización: »Twenty’s Plenty for Away Tickets’‘ fue todo un éxito y miles de aficionados firmaron en su favor. Tras la decisión se reitera que la cuestión seguirá siendo una prioridad y esperan una apertura para la próxima reunión con los clubes en marzo.
En los días posteriores, el colectivo ha promovido una movilización de aficionados hacía sus propios clubes y sponsors para hacer ver su descontento con esta medida. De esta manera, todo el que quiera puede encontrar un email preparado y unas sencillas instrucciones para mostrar su protesta.

Más allá del precio de las entradas para los partidos fuera, el tema de los precios exagerados (sobre todo si consideramos las cantidades desorbitadas que llegan desde las televisiones) continua siendo el principal punto de desencuentro entre entidades y grupos de seguidores.
En los últimos días, Spirit of Shankly (Liverpool) ha anunciado una protesta el precio fijado para la tribuna Main Stand reestructurada. Durante la temporada 16/17 ha subido el precio a £77. Por otro lado, Arsenal Supporters Trust ha anunciado el boicot para el aumento de £30 para el partido de Champions League con el Barcelona.

As reported in recent weeks on the FSF website, the Premier League shareholder clubs met yesterday (Thursday 4th February).
Below is a statement from the FSF in response to the widely reported outcome of that meeting:
“We are incredibly disappointed to learn that a proposed cap on away ticket prices was voted down by the Premier League clubs yesterday in a secret ballot. Supporters will not let them off the hook.
“Football supporters are right to be angry about the Premier League clubs’ apparent reluctance to tackle the problem of ticket prices. Top-flight clubs have known since last year that they will be receiving a huge increase in their TV revenues. In the light of that windfall, Premier League clubs cannot justify maintaining high ticket prices, particularly for away fans.
“Despite clubs failing to agree a way forward yesterday, this issue will not go away and fans will continue to fight for fair ticket prices.
«We understand that the Premier League will be working with clubs over the coming weeks to find a way forward. That must result in meaningful action on away prices at the next shareholders’ meeting at the end of March. If clubs have the will to do this there must be a way.”
